Lori Purdy Faitel, Aspiring Author, Announces the Release of Her New Book, AM I BRAIN DAMAGED? Memoir or return to Life After my Head Injury.
This is a true story of Lori’s miraculous recovery from a devastating accident that caused a closed head injury leaving her in a coma for 7 days
West Bloomfield, MI – Lori Purdy Faitel was in a devastating automobile accident in 1986 when a truck on the interstate dropped a bail of hay which landed on her windshield causing her to spin out of control and crash into a construction area. The jaws of life were used to get Lori out of the car. Twice, on the way to the hospital, she was registered legally dead. When she was admitted to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a closed-head injury; Lori was in a coma for 7 days as her body continued the fight to survive.
Lori’s book, “Am I Brain Damaged?” is a compilation of writings she did while healing from the injury, beginning when her brain was that of an infant, but her body was that of a 25 year old woman. Able to write, but not speak or walk, Lori kept memoirs of her recovery from her injury, which she has been writing, off and on, for over 20 years.
In a recent interview, Lori said, “In reading my updated memoirs I hope to enlighten everyone to the internal trials and confusion of one particular head-injured person, me, Lori Ann Purdy-Faitel.” Lori understands every head injury is different as are the levels of recuperation. Lori feels truly blessed to have mainstreamed back into normal life. Her goal in publishing this book is to increase the awareness of care givers and anyone involved with someone who suffers from a serious head injury. Lori encourages her head-injured colleagues to find their own level of comfort and to live the best life they can.
Lori Purdy-Faitel’s book is to be released in April, 2009; it will be available for purchase online at OutskirtsPress.com, Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com. She is currently planning speaking and signing tours; visit Lori’s website for details and updates: http://aspiringauthor.synthasite.com/
